The hotel room offered a pillow menu: firm, soft, feather, memory foam and “the perfect night’s sleep.”
Mr Kaur rang reception. “What’s the difference between soft and the perfect night’s sleep?”
“You can try both,” the clerk said. “Which would you like first?”
“The perfect one, obviously.”
A porter arrived carrying no pillow. He inspected the curtains, switched off the corridor light and asked Mr Kaur to silence his phone.
“Where’s the pillow?” Mr Kaur asked.
“It comes with the soft option,” said the porter. “The perfect night’s sleep is advice.”
